|| Excessive Violence ||
|| Quake Patch v1.0 ||
|| by neil klopfenstein ||
|| ||
|| the excessive violence patch is a way to add, well, ||
|| excessive violence to Quake. and by excessive i mean more ||
|| excessive than quake already has.. :) ||
|| i've added a number of interesting, gory, and altogether ||
|| campy features: ||
|| ||
|| weapons: ||
|| > Grenade Launcher fires a random head, which acts like a normal grenade||
|| > Nailguns fire a random gib, which acts like a normal nail ||
|| > Head-Grenades expel gibs when exploding ||
|| > Both Gib-nails and Head-grenades leave blood trails ||
|| ||
|| gib stuff: ||
|| > Monsters produce about three times as many gibs ||
|| > Heads are gib-able (by an explosive) ||
|| > Gibs, instead of dissolving, explode (non-damaging) ||
|| ||
|| none of this stuff should at all affect gameplay.. other than some ||
|| possible slowdown and obscuring your view with gibs. ||
|| sometimes there are enough objects on the screen that a packet ||
|| overflow will occur, which messes up the sound but nothing else. ||
|| source code is available upon request. ||
|| ||
|| Bugs: ||
|| ||
|| none known, except aforementioned packet overflow. ||
|| e-mail found bugs to the author.. include description of bug and a way ||
|| to reproduce it. (rebrane@musenet.org) ||
|| ||
|| Future Versions: ||
|| ||
|| i want to add the capability to gib bodies, without making them solid ||
|| and therefore obstructing walking, and also make rockets into something ||
|| gory. ||
|| e-mail the author with suggestions. ||
|| ||
|| Installation: ||
|| ||
|| 1) Make a subdirectory in your quake directory: for example, named gibs.||
|| 2) Move the included 'progs.dat' file into your new subdirectory. ||
|| 3) Run quake with the parameter -game and the name of the subdirectory: ||
|| for example, 'quake -game gibs' ||
|| 4) Enjoy! ||
|| ||
|| for a deathmatch game, only the server has to use the gibs patch. ||
|| ||
|| another exciting ||
